⁷ “Is it being said, O house of Jacob:
‘Is the Spirit of the Lord ^(A)impatient?
Are these His doings?’
Do not My words ^(B)do good
To the one ^(C)walking uprightly?
⁸ “^[a]Recently My people have arisen as an ^(D)enemy—
You ^(E)strip the ^[b]robe off the garment
From ^(F)unsuspecting passers-by,
From those returned from war.
⁹ “The women of My people you ^(G)evict,
Each one from her pleasant house.
From her children you take My ^(H)splendor forever.
